Oh yes that’s right, I partnered with a network marketing company. (and I survived)
You must be thinking HOWWW and why?!
Let me tell you why, it’s because I believe. I believe that I was not made to live a life where I hate my job and live for the weekends – because I CHOOSE not to. I believe that I was not made to settle for less and I believe that I have to dream big, I owe it to myself. I always had this desire to work for myself and build this empire one day. But what if one day could be today? I wanted to do more than I was doing at the time, I had my vision and my dreams so why not jump in and make them a reality?
Why did I decide to go for it and sign up?!
Because there was no other option. The opportunity was too good to walk away from. I had never been SO sure of anything yet so freakin terrified at the same time – but I had this gut feeling that this is what I had to do, I couldn’t afford NOT to. I owed it to myself to take this opportunity and run to the top.
I know you hear a lot of stories about people starting out in a certain company because they love the product so much, they have been using it for years so why not make some money out of it?
My reason was not based on my love for the product, I joined before I even tried it. I saw it as a business opportunity, a way to help others and something I couldn’t walk away from.
I did however, tell myself that if I didn’t stand behind the products after trying them, that I couldn’t go through with it. I have been blogging for awhile now and I couldn’t afford to lose that loyalty, mostly I would have to take A TON of acting classes to pretend my love for a product that much!
So fast forward after I joined, I receive my product pack. This one box I had been waiting for – I knew it. I took a shower to try out this shampoo and quickly saw what everyone was raving about it. My brassiness was gone in just one wash and my hair felt softer and shinier than it did with all my other expensive high end crap.
I KNEW, I had this gut feeling that these products were revolutionary and I had just made the best decision of my life so far. (I always HAVE to say ‘so far’, with any of those statements to myself such as ‘this is the best day of this year, so far, in case I jinx it for the rest of the year or in this case, the rest of my life)
Why this particular company?
Well, why not?! Seriously. I have never seen a better compensation plan, this company gives back to their market partners so much for simply doing our job it is insane. Not just to us but to communities who need it too, our gratitude program is incredible and has changed many lives so far and will continue to change many more in the future.
I am so glad and proud to be a part of this one but I know there are many more out there.
For those of you wanting to join a NWM company but are unsure which one you want to partner with, go with your gut AND brain. You have to feel passionate about what it is they are doing but at the same time you have to look at the compensation plan to see if it would be realistic for you to have a growing income with the amount of time you have.
My views on network marketing as a profession
I know there are mixed views and opinions going around regarding network marketing and honestly? I think people spreading negativity about this profession have too much time on their hands. I think they are the same kind of people who send emails to department stores complaining about the fact that ''the Christmas music started a little early in store this year''.
Yes, there are wrong ways of going about this and I have received many annoying ''omg pls join my team it would help me out a ton!!!'' messages myself but there really is no need to respond or be hateful towards this.
I can understand the slight frustration but the people sending these kind of messages make up maaaybe 5% of all network marketers out there. They do hurt the profession in my opinion but at the same time, a lot of people are naive to think that every single person is the same. For that 5%, it is most likely not their fault - this is just the way they are being trained OR (definitely) a lack there of.
I believe some people also just want to hate for the sake of it. They see others talking negatively about it and they suddenly have the same opinion without really understanding the business model or having done any research themselves.
So if you are or have been a negative nancy about network marketing - go find yourself a hobby, byeeeee.
What happened after I joined and started my NWM business?
I love reading other people's stories about how they got started in something and so I have decided to open up more about this topic since more and more of you seemed interested in knowing what goes on behind the scenes, yay!
After I joined I set out all my goals and planned my months by what I had to of to achieve them. I would recommend you do the same and set your goals higher than you think possible, you have no idea what you are capable of sometimes so think big!!!
I threw myself into all the trainings and information I could find and educated myself on everything I had to know. Truth is, there was absolutely no need to do that! You just need to know the basics and your income producing activities and you are good to go. Don't waste time learning all the ins and outs like I did because you can learn along the way - which is what I love about it.
I have big dreams with this company but I did make one big mistake which I regret but have learned a lot from at the same time - I will write a more detailed post about this soon.
Let me know if you want to read more details on how to get started, how to choose the right company for you etc and if you are thinking about getting started in network marketing, go for it!
Love, M x
