How To Style A Wrap Dress As A Kimono

Floral Kimono here | Black biker boots here | Black crop top similar | Black tight mini skirt similar | Camel cross body bag similar |

With spring finally around the corner it is time to get the floral patterns out again. I am so glad that these are still on trend and even if they weren’t I would still wear them because I just think they can really brighten up your day, almost as much as real flowers can! I recently went to the Columbia road flower market here in London for the first time and I honestly don’t know why I hadn’t been before! (ha, I do know really its probs all the uni work and constant deadlines) I bought some tulips for my room that reminded me of home and it made me so happy. Treating yourself to some flowers, real or in a pattern, should be on your to do list this month.

Depending on your location, you may need some more cover up for spring time than I am wearing here. In all honesty, I did need some more cover up myself but stubborn as always, you can now see my hands red (in transition of turning purple) in these pictures. I would style it with a short dark blue denim jacket to add more detail to the outfit. A black leather jacket would look good as well since they go with any outfit but I think a dark blue denim one will make the outfit stand out more.

Wrap Dresses To Wear As Kimono

This dress is supposed to be tied around your waist to make it a midi wrap dress. I like wearing it that way but I think it looks 10x cuter as a kimono with a skirt and a simple top! I took this inspiration from one of my colleagues who wore it with jeans and a top which makes it look very different too! A more casual look. I decided to dress it up a little with a pair of tights and a mini skirt.

IMPORTANT: Don’t be like me in these pictures but actually tie the strings at your back underneath the dress so it looks less of a mess.

For summer you can wear the wrap dress just as it is with a pair of sandals or heels, it is so versatile!
I personally love styling items in a new way every time I wear them, to make the item and outfit feel like new again.
What is your opinion on wearing dresses a different way?
